This rustic European antique is a Hungarian storage bench or primitive pine settle dating from the mid-to-late 1800's. Crafted from pine, it features a grey blue painted finish with chestnut undertones that’s especially unique.

This bench traces its roots to the region that was formerly the Austrian Empire, when the Habsburg Monarchy ruled much of present day Austria, Romania, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Historically in the small villages of this region, the family gathering spot during temperate months was on a wide porch or veranda where this bench would have been located.
