19th C French Empire Walnut and Burlwood Vitrine

$5,895.00

This chic piece is a French Empire Display Cabinet or Library Vitrine dating from the early 1800's. The Empire period is from the Napoleonic era in France, and stylistic elements such as the beautiful bronze capped columns on the lower portion of this china cabinet are emblematic of this stylish period in history.

This display cabinet is constructed from French oak with walnut veneer, and features a book-matched burlwood veneer on the lower cabinet doors. Lovely bronze details and escutcheon plates add just the right amount of sparkle.

Open the upper pair of glass doors to access two adjustable glass shelves. Below a pair of cabinet doors open to reveal ample storage space for all of your most precious belongings. Both the upper and lower doors feature original antique locks, still operable with a beautiful pair of skeleton keys which are included.

This is a statement-making piece, whose architectural details and clean lines would be well-suited to both contemporary and traditional spaces. With its grand scale (52.25"w x 87"h) you could use this as a display cabinet in a Dining Room, or a bookcase in an office, study, or living area.

This piece comes in two pieces for shipping. Hidden between the upper and lower cabinets is an original maker's signature and a scrap of antique newspaper. How neat!
