This gorgeous piece is a Hungarian pine bench dating from the mid-to-late 1800's. Crafted from pine, this piece features an original painted finish in a dusty blue-grey color that’s especially unique.

This piece comes from the Austrian Empire when the Habsburg Monarchy ruled much of present day Austria, Romania, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Historically, in the small villages of this region, the family gathering spot during temperate months was on a wide porch or veranda where this bench would have been located.

With its’ sturdy construction and beautiful painted finish, we think that this bench would make a marvelous addition to any home. From an entry or hallway, to a mudroom or even a dining bench, place it somewhere special where your guests can admire it.
