French Provincial Louis XVI Style Mirror, Early 20th C
This lovely piece is a French provincial Louis XVI style mirror, dating from the early 20th century. It features a beautifully carved dimensional crest (the uppermost portion) ornamented with a basket of flowers, a spade and garden tools in the Provençal style, along with a cascading foliate garland.
In the center, a clean beveled glass mirror plate makes this piece ready for use today. Carved husks ornament the mirror's feet. A distressed painted finish (original to the piece) adds that perfect hint of rustic French patina.
We think that this mirror would be a real showstopper in a powder room, where all of your guests could admire its' whimsical details. Or pair it with a French commode in an entry or hallway for the full wow-factor.
