19th C French Louis Philippe Commode With Black Marble Top

$5,195.00

This gorgeous piece is a French Louis Philippe commode dating from the mid-1800's. While most Louis Philippe commodes we see feature some sort of wood veneer, this piece has been constructed from solid French Cherry, making it a unique and special find.

There is a large drawer concealed in the cornice (just below the marble top), and it includes an original Sainte Anne marble top. Below, three additional drawers have been expertly crafted with hand-dovetailed joinery, and offer plenty of storage space. The commode rests on stepped ogee style feet, and includes an original skeleton key (not operational).

This lovely chest of drawers would be a statement-making piece in an entryway, and would be equally graceful in a dining room as a buffet or sideboard, offering ample drawer space for your most prized possessions.

Dimensions: 51.5ʺW × 24ʺD × 39ʺH

Condition: Minor bumps and scratches; One small piece of trim missing on the left side just beneath the cornice (as shown in photos). Age-related board separation at side panels. Minor scratches to the marble top. Overall a charming piece in very good antique condition.

Shipping: This piece includes complimentary shipping (within the 48 contiguous United States). Most pieces arrive within 3 weeks. Contact us to find out more about our shipping policies and timeline.
