19th C. Signed French Louis Philippe Burled Walnut Commode

This stunning Louis Philippe commode dates from 1860, and features beautifully book-matched burled walnut veneer. A rare and special attribute, it has been signed and dated by the maker "Neyrad 1860" on the underside of a drawer (see photos).

It stands tall in stature at 39.5"h, and features a "secret" drawer concealed in the cornice (just below the wood top). Below, three additional drawers with hand-made dovetailed joinery, offer plenty of storage. The commode rests on stepped ogee block feet, and features period authentic wood escutcheon plates, for a tailored aesthetic. Two skeleton keys are included with the commode, and can be used to lock two of the drawers.

This lovely chest of drawers would be a statement-making piece in an entryway, and would be equally graceful in a dining room as a buffet or sideboard, offering ample drawer space for your most prized possessions.
