French 19th Century Louis Philippe Commode, Walnut Burl Wood

This lovely French commode dates from the Louis Philippe period (1830-1848). The walnut sideboard features a stepped canted corner top over two spacious hand dovetailed drawers.

Below, a pair of cabinet doors open to reveal interior shelves of French oak, and plenty of storage space. The lower cabinet doors can be locked with an original skeleton key and working 19th century lock. The sideboard features beautiful burled walnut veneers, and retains its' original drawer pulls and escutcheon plates. The commode rests on an elegant plinth base with stepped ogee block feet.

Dimensions: 39”W  x 22”D x 50”H

Condition: One piece of moulding missing on the upper top corner and the corner of the front left foot. Minor bubbling/cracking to the veneer on the left door and some dents on the left drawer (shown in photos). Some scratching to the top. Overall a gorgeous piece with a beautiful patina.
